Note to self:
When pusruing the bottom of a plate of mexican cuisine, always stop right about ten minutes before the point when you feel satisfied. Otherwise you will end up feeling as stuffed as a chili relleno...

chile relleno...great stuff . we have a mexican restaurant at the front of our neighborhood with the best food. i find myself waddling out of there more often than my waste line needs, just can't seem to leave the food sitting there on my plate .

I keep trying new places, mostly in Birmingham's homewood/southside area, but some around Hoover where I work. Sabor Tropical and sabot latino are my favorites so far.

homewood...before my company moved to irondale we had an office in homewood right down from demetri's bbq (fantastic b'fast and lunch there). i will have to give those two you mentioned a try, i'm always on the lookout for new places to try.

I know Demetri's, never been there though. And definately try one of the Sabors, they have $1 marguerita specials, too. One location has it Wednesday and the other thursday..I can't remember which is which. If you worked near Denetri's then you must also have tried Zoe's?

lucky for me i was only in the homewood area during lunch so i didn't have to suffer through finding them closed .
tonight i am going to talk my 'better half' into going to Taj India on Highland for dinner. if you like curry you'd love it, the best indian food i've had in ages

I will have to try it sometime. I am in that area all the time so I know exactly where you are talking about.

ok, after consuming my lunch (waaaayyyyy tooooo much of a jim-n-nicks stuffed baked potato) i may have to postpone the curry until tomorrow. that is unless i get real brave (heaven forbid i actually loose a pound or two )

i see a pattern here, ever thought about seeking help for this problem?

ah, but i don't consider it to be a problem, more of an obstacle..a reverse obstacle if you will. something that i have to deal with after getting to enjoy wonderful mexican food. *rubs belly while grinning hungrily*

WOW!, i can't believe it's been 5 days since i was over here, this darn month is flying by, month heck! year! it is july, must, believe it or not, begin doing layaway's for christmas. with 4 teenagers to buy for and then everyone else if i don't get an early start i end up rushing around like crazy at the last minute .
.
.
we went to smith lake for the 4th and decided bbq'd ribs would be best. those turned out to be the best ribs i ever ate. i don't know if they were that good or if i was just that delirious from the heat . sounds crazy but 'john boy and billy's' grilling sauce (hot and spicy) does wonders on a grill .

My roomate and I took our kayaks to Oak Mtn lake on the 4th. It was wonderful. I'm not much of a rib person, but for steaks or burgers I like Dales or Moores.

of the two dales is my fav. i don't know what it is about that flavor but it does wonderful things to burgers
