It's been a while since I posted a journal entry here. Unfortunately, as a result, I've not heard much from a handful of people who don't have enough online time to keep up with the blog and all that.
So, here it is. A shiny new journal entry.
Had a nice Xmas here in Chicago. The weather has been warmer than it normally would this time of year (it's currently 34° F/ 1.1° C, with no wind whatsoever); rather than a White Christmas, we've had a somewhat muddy one. Spent both Xmas Eve and Day with my beloved K's family. His sister and BIL and their two little ones drove in from Willimantic, CT. It was nice seeing everyone, but I find large gatherings a little overwhelming after a few hours.
Took a vacation day today to allow myself some down time to recuperate before returning to work. It'll be a slow, goof-off week... but the first couple weeks of January are going to be insanely busy.
And now I need to attend to an enormous pile of laundry (which, because our clothes dryer is electric, will take forever to get through) and play with the cat.

Yoda she say:
"Play with cat. Repeat after me: "Play with cat"
Yoda she say:
"When cat bite, stop play with cat. Feed cat"
Yoda she say:
"Now check cat litter clean. If no, change litter before cat poo on floor in disgust"
Yoda she say:
"Now check cat has nice warm place to sleep."
Yoda she say:
"Now leave poor little cat in peace & go sort the rest of your life out.Quietly. A certain amount of soothing music is permissable, but no, i repeat NO loud noises."

Hi PCandy! Hi Terri. Sorry I haven't been stopping by the blog much, I've just been so insanely busy trying to get settled in to the new place. Tonight I've been hanging a lot of artwork, pounding in nails, which must be driving the neighbors up the wall.

Ooh, manic vix sighting! Murky buckets for your Christmas card!
Ah, so JEllen evolves into the Neighbour From Hell! Fortunately for me, one of the advantages of living in a very old house is the walls are solid stone & about a foot thick, so never any neighbour probs, i have had musicians playing through amps at 4am in the past, next door didn't even notice. Not so good for banging nails into though!

Hi everyone!
Yes, thanks for the lovely holiday card, Vix!
My neighbors (beneath us on the second floor) are sometimes a bit noisy, but they do have small children, so I make allowances in the patience department. They're much better than the previous tentants down there, who seemed to be running some sort of all-night disco.
Key: Complain about this post
