My poor baby 
If it's any consolation, the interview went really well. I definitely think I impressed the guy - he says in 10 days or so I'll hear from them and if successful, I'll go on a short training course, followed by an exam (don't worry, I'm good at exams) after which they'll pick out someone for the post and one replacement if necessary. At the moment though I feel very positive about how it went
