Also, the epitome of excitement... on the off chance that Woodpigeon (who's currently visiting Chicago for work again) might be dining at Chez PC one night this week... we got two shiny new clear shower liners and put them in the bathroom.
My advice is this- if you're ever at Chez PC and need to do something homey or productive, do it before you've sampled some of PC's special homemade sangria.
It's kinda tough getting the rings into the grommets on the shower liner when everything looks all wobbly.
That said, the bathroom looks 100% better with its new shower liners (I guess I gave up trying to clean the old ones). $10 a year doesn't seem that exorbitant, for a clean-looking bathroom... it's not easy, because much like the kitchen, our bathroom has quite a lot of white.

Yeah, congrats to my sister for hooking her little shrewish claws into a poor unsuspecting sap who also happens to have money. More power to her, I guess.
Anyway, now that the bathroom's looking a bit better, I can move on to the next phases of Spring Cleaning... the massive Wall Washing Project, the Cleaning of the Kitchen Cabinets, and Organizing the Back Porch (which will involve yet another run of chucking things out). We have our work cut out for us!
My allergies are killing me today. Stupid blossoming stuff.

I dug four bags of prime excrement into my vegetable plot yesterday. I also had a look in my compost dalek...and a wee peeped out at me. No 'wee, cowrin', tim'rous beastie' this...it retreated briefly into its burrow for a few seconds and then came out for a longer look.
Anyway...I've covered the cheeky we blighter up with garden waste and rotten vegetables. That'll tteach him!

I have done the washing & it's actually dry. Not put it away yet though. But have put the last lot away. My "Yet another list" domestic section reads:
Get white rug washed
Where is Patrick N?
And white bed cover
Decision re *bloody* duvet cover
Plant sorting/watering
Fix clic-clac
Get cupboard down from attic
And steps
SORT ATTIC
Clean crockery shelves
Clean floor
Clean stairs
Hootoo postcards
Shoe storage
Dead computers:
*sound card
*printer
*webcam
*mike
PLUS
*defragment
*antivirus?
*email dossiers
*marque pages
SORT ATELIER
That's the Major list. Then we have Minor lists & Never in a Million years will get done lists. I am really quite good at making lists. I have actually been known to start lists with:
*make list of lists that need making.
My daily List for today has lots of satisfying crossed out stuff:
Phone Library *done
Med Insurance *not a hope in hell
Doctor *done & i hope he rots
EDF *nope, we will be on ham(p)sters & candles soon
Washing ****triple
GET MEDS ***done but not without enormous effort
Buy bread, potatoes, onions, henna * nope, but did buy cigs & whisky
Post Yael's postcard *nope, but it's in an envelope, addressed & in my bag. It will arrive late & crumpled, probably much as will NBY.
Henna hair * nope, 'cos i didn't buy the henna
Email landlady * nope, she can dam well wait, if she wants to put my rent up i have A List of Repairs
SORT upstairs * er, blanket phrase that. I have put the knickers & socks away
ICE * yup, have put ice in freezer. Somehow i manage drink related tasks quite well
Whisky * likewise. NBY has a nice giftwrapped bag of miniature scotch varieties, chosen mainly on the grounds i like the bottles
Sort paperwork * I did throw some stuff away. Probably the wrong stuff.
Phone Social w**ker. * the doctor did that for me when i started screaming at him
How on earth anybody manages to hold down a job & do all this sort of stuff too is beyond me. I want a wife.

I consider it a minor miracle if even half of the "to do" things get done, so I can sympathize. I start out with the best of intentions, but most days after work, I just want to have a little dinner and relax. Some errands get run- to the pharmacy for meds, and to the grocery store. I'm lucky to have someone who's willing to stop and pick stuff up or post domestic packages on his way home from work, or a lot less would get done.
I used to make "to do" lists all the time, but I gave it up. Things get done. Sometimes, things are forgotten... like the bill I've just remembered needs to be received by Monday.
