Being permanently unhappy for some reason or other, Poirot would seem to be a good addition to the heroes list.

That's only because he's about to cause someone misery by solving the murder they commited.

I have given this matter serious consideration, and on balance I think I agree with Titania. We mustn't drop our standards of grumpiness, especially as the 'Heroes' list is getting rather long. I know that old Hercule can get admirably pernickety - over his food, amongst other things - but if you measure him against the magnificently morose Inspector Morse , I think he seems positively perky.
Nevertheless, interesting to hear from you, Thursday. Especially as you appear to be a society rather than a person.
