Creative or Cheesy?

To stop me getting bored with playing lounge piano around endless Wedding Fayres and the like, I've started getting creative with middle 8s and the improv stretches, mostly using a bunch of old TV Themes. Who'd have thought that Killing Me Softly mashed up so well with the theme from Blockbusters? Or that you could twist the Eastenders theme into 12/8 time and play it over the chords from Send In The Clowns? And you'd never believe that the Red Dwarf theme tune makes a better Middle 8 for Take The A-Train than the one originally written.
I'm enjoying this...

I don't really have a good recording device. I suppose I could try the laptop but I doubt the mic quality is anywhere near stunning.

Right, I've just crowbarred the A-Team into Yesterday. I think I can hear John Lennon turning in his grave.

I don't know. It's a McCartney song, so I would have thought he'd be amused.

You should send this idea off to the BBC. They have a show... I think it's called something like 'I'm Sorry, I Haven't the Foggiest Idea'. They might be able to use it.
