No surprise in my journal, of course. What do _you_ think of my track listing, in that case?

I spose it would help if I knew half the songs...

It starts well, but goes downhill sharply as soon as we hit track 2.

Well it's got some Ocean Colour Scene on it, so big ups for that, and 'Days' runs a close second to 'Waterloo Sunset' as far as Kinks songs are concerned, but there doesn't seem to be much of a pattern or a theme holding the thing together - no cohesion. And it's got that bloody awful J Geils song on it. There's only one song I hate more than that one - My Sharona.
And when are you going to drag yourself into the 21st century and get a CD burner?

Isn't there something about tapes though? You're forced to listen to the music because you can't skip, and judiciously placed tracks that you know the other person will want to listen to ensure the whole thing gets played

I always get OCS soomehow mixed up with Cast, they sort of blend together as one in my mind. And if I'm thinking Cast, then of course I'm having to make reference to The La's, and with that comes the recognition that Cast weren't one tenth as good as the original band. Therefore by the same token OCS get slated as not very good. Sorry
And as for JXL - or Junkie XL to give him his proper title - this is a song made by an advertising agency, for f*ck's sake. So why are you including this in any selection?

Mu Beta Posted Jul 3, 2005
Advertising agency?
By my recollection it was first used in Oceans Eleven.

I'm pretty sure that the Oceans Eleven one is the original version.
I'm saying this because I know that it was Nike that commissioned the remix for the advertising campaign. And that came some months after the film was released, so to my mind it would be odd for Nike to commission something so far in advance and then hand it over to a film production.

Nah, it was the original in the movie. This news report pretty much confirms it - http://archives.cnn.com/2002/SHOWBIZ/Music/06/16/uk.elvis/

Don't think I remember the advert. What was in it?

A lot of very famous footballers playing some very flashy football on a boat with Eric Cantona shouting at them.

You could play the game on the website that was associated with it - strangely it was very playable too.
I've gotta pick holes in the track sequence too - the tracks swing from get up and dance to sit down and listen too much. (Or in the case of Ocean Colour Scene - leave the room and go to the toilet.)
