Night at the Theatre, anyone
Mu Beta Started conversation Sep 25, 2008
Starting in approximately 10 days, the Phoenix Theatre, Ross-on-Wye, will present the West End hit comedy 'An Evening With Gary Lineker', written by Arthur Smith and directed by yours truly.
If anyone wants to make the journey to darkest Herefordshire, I can guarantee you a very funny play, and will probably stump up for a drink in the bar aftwerwards. Box Office opens Saturday.

I saw that when it had its West End run, about 15 years ago. Twas very funny.
Rumour had it that Gary Lineker actually made guest appearances during it (when he wasn't doing anything else) although he didn't the night that I went.

Hmm. I'll see what my rota throws up.

Well, I tried.
I've got the early shift on Friday, Saturday off, and a late on Sunday. We haven't been away for a weekend for ages, and I've never taken Lainey up the Wye, so to speak. This would've been perfect.
Unfortunately, she doesn't finish work until 5.30 on Friday, and although she has Saturday off she's back in at 8am on Sunday.
I'm still vaguely thinking that I might make a solo trip, but that would be pretty expensive and it would be a rather long, lonely journey. I's probably not going to happen, I'm afraid.
Hope it goes well for you, though. When does it start, Saturday?

It's a Saturday start, yes.
We've got a very comfy sofa if you want to stay over. Could probably stretch to dinner and a few pints too.

Gnocchi Vesuvio?
I could be tempted, you know. I need to spend Saturday with Lainey, because we haven't had a day off together for weeks, but I'm bound to get another day off during the run. If it's essentially going to cost me petrol, ticket and refreshments, I can probably afford it, too.
Again, I'll have to see what I get on the next rota

Well, there's no Sunday performance, and obviously I'm at work and the theatre for much of the day, but we're happy to make you up the sofa. Dinner will likely be something quick to enable me to get out again.
Although, having said that, my mother will be staying from Friday 10th.
