Mom came home from the hospital M 21 Jan, had a rather bad time of it the first few days.
It rained today, a tremendous novelty here in the desert (temperature about 74F/22C), and she ventured out to sit on the front porch for a time, listening to the rain and watching activity around the neighborhood, then ventured a short walk around the garden during a lull in the rain, tottering about, making remarks on and asking questions about some of the plants.
Not very much up yet, only a few things planted last autumn , mostly California Native Locust intended for a wind break to moderate the extremely powerful north wind.
(I've already harvested my autumn potato crop, which died back after a freeze. I've already begun planting another, which should be ready to harvest in May, mostly exotic types.)
She did spot a tiny marigold that came up of itself in one the flower pots, though its only about 2 inches tall and not remotely ready to flower yet.
I have hopes of getting her to go out for the local monthly senior citizens dinner tomorrow.
I still haven't completed my "What I Did Last Summer" journal entry, though its started on Open Office notebook. Not terribly long, but rather complicated.
