Are you positive you meant billion? That seems a little high. It is about the same as the domestic product of Cyprus. Perhaps 'million'?

I am not sure about the numbers on Napster, but on the Kazaa network there are (at the moment I write this) 1,960,797 users sharing 307,468,554 files (2,077,066 gb) available for sharing so I think those numbers are not too much inflated if at all.

Well I don't know: a billion, ie 1,000,000,000 dollars per two million users is 10,000,000,000/2,000,000 = 500. $500 per user? Would 50 cents not be more realistic? I seriously doubt Napster, a company with no serious way of generating cash, would have $1B to give away.

Hi Chris,
thanks for your comment; I had to look it up on the net myself. The billion dollar offer is in fact correct: http://news.com.com/2100-1023-252862.html?legacy=cnet&tag=mn_hd
As the article says, it's $1.67 per month and user, with an estimated user base of 50 million users.
