Tyranid's eh?
I used to be a Tyranid/Chaos person myself. I didn't use to play the games a) never had enough pieces to make an army (and little bits of paper with the words "Jugarnaught" written on them quickly tire.) b) no-one to play it with or terrain to play it on, even if I did.
So I just contented ymself to painting the miniature models. Which was great fun and I still have them all in a little shelf in my room back at home.

nid's all the way, although i dont mind a bit of chaos every now and
again. i know how you feel about not having enough players to make an army though, my brother works for games workshop and it p**ses him off no end that i just pick up bits and pieces and never really get
an army going. paintings the best part anyway.

I always half-tempted to strip my old models down in thinner and take it up again. Sadly, I lack to the two things that would make this possible. Time & Money.
Agreed paintings the best bit - like I said I would *love* to just have a crack at it again if only to try and paint them a hell of a lot more fancy than I could manage when I was 16.

t'other thing of course is. It's great fun to paint up a greater demon or hive tyrant - all gooey bits for faces or chitinous out shells that glisten like tar under glass. It's less fun to paint 16 rippers or space marines who are more-or-less exactly the same.

i couldn't agree with u more, thats why i love dark elves and fantasy so much, because the army's are more old fashioned the individual characters are less tightlyt controlled by the leaders, this means that you can paint every character individually and differently. unless of course you are collecting undead. the reason i got rid of my undead army is because i got so sick of painting skeletons i just wanted to step on them, you know i8t's time for a change when that starts to happen
