we had father ted over here for a while, i remember getting someone out of a catatonic state by sitting them down in front of it (student politics does weird things to people).

Good thing is that the one I use in real life isn't that thick, and is much easier to read.
BTW? Do you kahndlah people do annah othah accents? (Sorry my southerner/cajun is even harder to read)

Definately a plus side of H2G2! I can even unnerstand Fairly Strange! Now >theres< a Deep South accent

actually the person in question is now a minor media star in nz - he is somewhat deified by the younger set (which makes me think they must be pretty short of decent role models )
of course we kiwis don't actually speak with an accent at all
