im sort of trapped n a vicious circle at the mo, my chest has helped me put on weightm, my weight makes my chest bad, but i cant lose weight because exercise is hard with the bad chest hopefully ill get there eventually. now im off the sterids i shoul at least get over the achy fatigue n swelling

Actually, right now things are fine! Had a great day at musical rehearsal - learned sort of a jig to be danced at Fezziwigs X-mas party. High speed, fiddle and piano, and 15 couples in a frenzy round the room. Two hours of that, and I won't need any exercise until next Saturday.

Hubby likes my new skirts, and gives more compliments lately, so shan't complain.

Coming off the steroids should help. What brand are you taking for inhaled steroids ? And for reliever? Did you get any clear verdict on your kidneys yet?

I've had a beclomethasone inhaler for years, though ive always been terrible at remembering to take it, yesterday they gave me a new one to take too its got two drugs in it , budesonide and formoterol. still have to take the salbutamol too.

it was prednisolone tabs thats made me swell up. i wont know anything aboyut my kidneys till i get called in to to see the specialidt ive been referred to, could be months

If you hadn't got just that one, I would have urged you to go get it. Now remember to follow the instructions for a couple of weeks at least, then you can go more as needed. I hope you got the powder inhaler, not the pMDI... You shouldn't need the salbutamol, if you need you can take the bud+form one as reliever...

Now, I am not a doctor, can't prescribe, but have worked at the lab who developed it, since 14 years. I've heard a bit about it...

Pred tablets are so sad - the side effects are bad, and you have to take sooooo much to get the levels in the lungs high enough... I think the worst of that will go away now, though.

Morning and night, before brushing your teeth, should do it. Just one small thing to add to bathroom habit. Seal it well though - the powder one doesn't like moisture!

the powder one took a bit of getting used to last night..for ages we thought it wasnt working cos there was no noticable puff from it! it does seem to make adifference though, ive not used the blue one so much today. still got a horrible cough left over from theflu thugh.

with the prednisolone, ive been on between 25 n 40 mgs a day for a couple of months now..n yeah the side effects are pretty rotton!

That's the thing - no puff, no taste (much), no chill from the spray. Remember to make the strongest,fastest inhalation you can - the spray aerosoles are to be slowly inhaled but this one depends on your own strength...
I'm so glad it seems to help! I'd say use the combo rather than the blue one, because if you need the blue, then the asthma is so bad that you need the steroid too... At least every other time... unsolicited, unqualified advice, take it or leave it, no legal mumbo jumbo can help me I suppose...

i'll prolly still need the blue for a while till it gets properly under control. i skoke 30-40 a day at he mo too which obviously doesnt help.
