It looks pretty good as it is. I'd never heard of Handfasting before (am learning things from you every day) but it sounds a good idea. Would you equate it more with an engagement or with a trial marriage?

Neither, I'd equate it with normal marriage..its just a different ceremony to the usual religious guffins

It certainly has potential, Serephina.
You really need to explain where the term comes from - you mention the hands, but not the 'fasting' part, which I gather is because the couples hands are tied together.
Is this where 'tying the knot' comes from?
There's some more useful information here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/religions/paganism/features/rites/weddings.shtml
This is a good start, but it does need some fleshing out, for instance instead of:
'The vows may include stating whether the bond is to be for this life or for all lives to come.'
You could say:
'Most pagans will handfast for life, much as people in a Christian marriage would. Pagans that believe in reincarnation, however, may decide instead to handfast for all their lives, meaning that they believe their souls will be joined through future incarnations. There are also those who choose to handfast again after a year and a day, after which time they may either go their seperate ways or renew their vows.'
Finally, have a search for the Telltown marriages - very interesting.
Hope this helps

Doing OK. You've explained a few more of the terms which people like me aren't familiar with. But I was happy with it as it was. Is there any more to say?
Clothing?
Any particular content to the wording used during the ceremony?
What could the vows include?
Are the proceddings all defined by each couple entirely from scratch and individually?
Are there age limits? (post-puberty, presumably?)
