What a difference a year makes..
Serephina Started conversation Oct 5, 2005
A year ago this week I was about ready to throw in the towel.I maybe would've given it serious thought if it wasn't for Joshua.I was a complete and total mess..an accumulation of events and a depression I didnt know I was suffering from (I blamed the depo provera at the time) topped off by the actions of one complete and total self centred, cruel, cowardly bastard.I couldn't see past the amount of pain I felt. Then I started working at the shop and slowly at first things got better. By the winter meet I was feeling brighter than I had in a long time ,and I know one of you wouldv'e noticed that more than everyone else
Things are a lot different now..I'm as happy as I could be whilst still fat n trying to stop smoking And I have one person to thank for a great deal of it.The one who's there no matter what and no matter what my sabotaging side throws at him refuses to judge me badly or love me any less..one of the few people who seen the real me through actualy 'really' looking..
oops im getting slushy, better shut up now
Ayear can make a huge difference though..nevergive up!

Portugal was unseasonally hot but we did absolutely nowt and feel fantastic for it . It's not a very veggie friendly place though, but I kind of expected that from a country that eats as much fish as Japan

The UK's certainly a lot better now on vegetarian dishs well, it seems to be, most menus have em on in pubs/resturants etc not that I often try them myselfs... I think eating of vegetables is unethical ooo wonder if the chips are nearly done... then it'l be time to show this steak the flame on teh gas stove for a few seconds

In the UK it's rare I'm stumped for a veggie option, but I wish they were more adventurous than the usual veggie burger or generic pasta dish

Me too. SO often it's all 'veggie lasagne or salad. How boring. Just because we don't eat animals, do we deserve to die? Cause I could be bored to death.

Try explaining this to a waitress who thinks nothing of labelling crabsticks as a vegetarian option because 'they're fish'

What about those who swear they're veggie but they do eat chicken?

They bloody annoy me no end
This is how the term vegetarian is defined by Dictionary.com (for the carnivores):
1 : of or relating to vegetarians
2 : consisting wholly of vegetables, fruits, and sometimes eggs or dairy products
Put simply, if it's got a face I don't eat it!

Yep, but are you a leather wearing cheese eating veggie or do you scorn dairy as well? I eat cheese but not cheese with rennet in it.

If you don't do dairy you're vegan and just plain weird
I don't eat meat because I don't like the taste so I'm not too bothered with wearing leather shoes. It's a by-product anyway, but I do have some nice non-leather shoes from Vegetarian Shoes. They're based in Brighton and do mail order

Well yes, long and sausages shaped, ong and sausage shaped...
Mostly I'm veggie because meat makes me physically ill, it's just not worth it.
