Jasmin, for your 4-part article to have any chance of being accepted in the h2g2 Edited Guide you will have to combine the four installments into one (h2g2 does not accept serials), change it from 1st person to 3rd person and run the finished yarn through a spell-checker. Good luck

i want to use guide ml in it so i can structure it im not using a computer nor do i have a keyboard im using my television remote to type things in hence the mistakes, i couldnt join it all up as it cut off when i did and now its done i want to join it all up and use guide ml,the latter i can use now but how can i put the parts together,at the time of doing it it cut out if i did too much and i would put pictures in it but cant cause its just me and my remote haha xx

you are in a bit of a bind there then jasmin. can you get to a local library where you could have half and hour or so on h2g2. if you planned really carefully what you wanted to change then you might be able to get it done quick enough. get everything ready before you go, like links and stuff written out, then it's just case of adding them in when you get on line.
there is a guide ml clinic on h2g2 that should help you work out the basics. i know its a pain but i suggest you write out the code you want to use on a bit of paper because you will never get it by using you tv remote for a first draft. most common mistake is to not close a braket. if you do this on paper first it will be a lot easier. tehre is a link to the guide ml clinic on my space if you fail to find it in any other way. most useful code for you will be bung the text in here which causes a paragraph. if you forget you </> statement then it doesnt know which bit you wnat to put in a paragraph so watch out for that. also, if you start something in a paragraph, like a link or a list, then you need to close it before the end of the paragraph so you dont get overplapping code. name of link and not of you see what i mean. best way to see how code workd is to put test into the address bar at the top of the screen. i think you replace the letter with it, i forget, someone else can tell you, this will show you the guide ML of a page so you can get a feel for how things hang together. just remember to finish everything you start, in order, that pictures are assigned when an entry is edited so you dont need to worry about that, smileys and scrolling marquee etc. are not allowed in guide entries.

babe i know how to use guide ml its no problem now the problem ...actuall to hell with it i will redo the whole thing again but in guide ml this time ok and with colour headers..i know how to do it and i will need to do it again regardless anyway cause i cant go back an edit it once its done by remote ok
