Hi Adrian, no probs you're not disturbing me 
You could put your name on the Ace's volunteer page (A210664) though I don't know when the Eds will be recruiting again. 
You could subscribe to 'I'm New - What Do I Do Now?' (A868098) and the 'Welcome' page (A53146) often the first places newbies post to and chat to them there. (though we prefer non Aces not to be the first poster on a newbies PS, as it takes them off our list and makes it harder to be found, many newbies get over-looked this way)
Have you had a look at the Aces Home Page and connecting pages. You could subscribe to Aces Home Page, see what we chat about, which isn't much.
Hope that's been of some help.
