But that Guess Who monkey is truly obnoxious with his insidious one liners, the others might not bug me but he does and I don't know why!

He's quite simply a fool with no purpose. He tried to incriminate Andrew despite the fact that I was talking to him via messenger. That person is a brutal hacker, he doesn't care who he attacks as long as he feels that it's fun to do.

When you're on the net you talk face to face, there are protective masks in the Real world but on the net- it's almost mind to mind, you can get pretty riled up by someone like that and very badly hurt. Some say stay to the sides and ignore him but in so doing, you are becoming no better than the troll!

Like spectators at a fight egging each other on with cries of 'Fight' you can ignore them but then they'll ignore their current victim and pick another at random, if you ignore themn, they'll just carry on.

There is no simple way of saying this but: There is nothing that you can do to prevent them.

I happened to respond to the thread that Andrew started I think he was very badly hurt by this, and not just angry but emotionally hurt! I also have put myself into the no-mans' land by requesting a reply from this person I don't know if he is courageous enough to reply or if the BBCi messageboard is stable enough to keep my post up on the board! That's another thing that angers me! Two days in a row the boards are nearly unusable because of technical difficulties, that's nearly as annoying as the troll!!!

That's nothing I demanded to hear thingsd from this hacker who knew Andrew's middle name- now that is scary! But that's all he seemed to know.

The BBC only employ at the most 3 people to moderate all of the cult boards so while we have Emily B as a host in name form she will actually moderate a great deal more than the Doctor Who Boards.

They have Complain about this Post but the rare occasions that a moderator will come along and they will just use the greatest action like Pre-Mod to scold us effectively into submission.

The Trolls will just go to another board/ forum and then come back, there is nothing that can be done to halt them.

But we have almost too many trolls about- personal ones, busy ones, silly ones, vicious ones so many- perhaps they should get their own classification fixture in the table of animal species?

Personally I am not really offended by Trolls, of course I have never been insulted by one though. But they have never met you in real life and just insult you for no reason, just laugh in their faces, what are they going to do?
If they actually do something drastic like hack into your account, like they did with Andrew, then its time to be angry.

By the way super, I liked your thread, thats the only time someone has actually tried something like that

But I'm afraid that I'll come off as a turn coat or a hypocrite to Andrew and/or Richard! I just thought that maybe if the troll got a person to try and talk to him and get him to rationalise himself that he might see that he is not humorous! MAybe he's just searching for attention and if someone would just say hello maybe he might downgrade himself, not likely, but maybe! I know there are a lot of raw emotions out there and I do not mean to sweep the issue out of the rug. What this person has done is truly horrible, but maybe if we caught him off guard and brought him to the table he might explain himself. Unfortunately the boards are about as stable as a wicker chair being sat on by an elephant so the troll may not even bother to post! I'll try again tomorrow, maybe!

Andrew I feel bad for you and Richard please don't do something rash. If he has hacked into Andrew's account, he can hack into your's and since we don't know his computing prowess; he could any amount of damage mot to jsut your account but also to your computer! So please do nothing, say nothing, and this may sound corny but take a deep breath and count to ten.

I know it wasn't I who was attacked nor do I know Andrew that well,I only know him to identify him when he posts. I just don't want to come off as a back stabber, have you read the BBCi post, I just reread it and it does come off as chummy; I didn't mean to. I just wanted to open the lines of communication.

But until we ascertain his ability I suggest we just circle the wagons and be as nonaggressive as possible, I mean he could be dangerous, at least technologically, I also suggest that you back up your files on a disk or what not, just in case. He may seem like a prankster, but if he can find out Andrew's middle name he might find out about you and if you blow up and offend he may retaliate. Sounds outlandish but you may as well be cautious!
