*giggle* You have a dirty mind, Pheloxi. I didn't even spot that one. The Dutch can be just as bad, though. I had someone from H2 over a couple of weeks ago, and she had a fit of giggles every time someone mentioned the Dutch word for roll-your-own tobacco.

It's not even the brand name. It's just what the Dutch call the stuff.

I know...but sometimes brand makers think use wonderfull name, but is krab* .

* dutch for lobster.

I've never come across that one.

write krab with c instead of k and p instead of b, then you will know what I mean!

Anyway, I though Krab was a crab, and kreeft was a lobster.

my biology teacher and I were like fire and water! he build goose bathtub (from demolished church stones) in the school yard. if was not pacitvistic animal lover I would shot them (and him) during school tests and exams.

he was also beekeeper who sold cheep honey to us
...oh! he cooked up alcohol during school year.

I always got on fine with my biology teacher. You could always distract her from her train of thought with something interesting.

I tried that....

he sadly died of cancer less than year after I finished school. a rumour went around that one of his former house was aledgely build on chemical waste place. he is also smoked a lot. his classroom had more mould than building was old (build in 70s, I was there in early 80s).

One of the biology teachers at my old school lives in a house that's scheduled for demolition so they can build a high-speed railway. He says he won't leave untill they drag him out of his house.

my previous house is demolished, but not for road, but inprove the part of town. it is in part of town with too much old people and too much low income so they want give more class by more green and better shopping mall, which was about 30 % empty since near by shopping mall had millions spend on improving and a roof was added.

That's typical isn't it. They never think those things through.

the change was well thougt thru, because they were thinking about plans for 3 yrs. I felt like "lab rat", because every change a some one held collected protest signatures. one time I gave advice to protest "the lab rat thing" in stead of each change of plan. the found it a marvelous plan. a few month later final plan landed on my door.

I know live in on the egde of the town centre so much better. I even have garden even tho I do not have green fingers!

The town where I used to live has a theater, wich is getting to old to be much good anymore, so they've been squabbling for years now over wether or not to renovate it or build a new one or to do without one. so far about 5 plans have been suggested, they've had a 'save the theater' signature thing, they've had a referendum to ignore the signatures and everything.

I live near theater some overly some one renovation main hall was bit over actively and renovated art behind some thing the local governent and the artist was not amused. the company in in charge had remove ovely actively renovation.

oh well every August we have festival in a park a lady who lived next to park sued the local goverment and organiser, because the trees had complained to about noise pollution.

every town has its people!

Trees are well known for not having a good taste in music.

in the 70 building had to be business like so they changed our more than 100 yr old station interior into 70s looking bussiness.

the building is realy one of most beatifull old buildings of my town so in the 90s the local person in charge wanted to be restored to old station. he succeed and later opened by the Queen.

the station is surrounded by modern buildings build, because they wanted move state businesses (KPN - Royal Dutch post and telephony) to north in the 80s to improve employment. the managigng director got his office there, but refused to work from there. KPN became was sold and splot in 2 later. all tho still used, but not only by KPN it is ugly!
