I'd set the bar high for c's birthday last year, with a personalised happy birthday from jedwards.
This year was his 18th, and we are in Disneyland Paris. Today I arranged for him to meet Mickey Mouse, goofy, Pluto, tigger, and to kiss the hand of Cinderella. And Snow White blew him a kiss. We have a stunning collection of photos and autographs and another 2 days to go!
Ill be writing up a blog of how to handle Disney with special needs, but so far the house of mouse has come up trumps.

It doesn't matter if you can't understand the Dutch. In fact, I see I've linked to the English version. They've done a lot of work on the site since I last looked. And commercialised it a lot, too. All hand made!

Crap, we went to the studios park today- r was feeling ill so it was just me and c. And r who is the gadget freak and usual photographer made me take a good camera rather than relying on my iPhone.
We got autographs and photos with buzz light year, Mullan, aerial, Aladdin and jasmine, Mary poppins and bert..... And I thought I'd done brilliantly until I got back to the hotel and discovered that the idiot proof point and click camera had set itself to video.....

We did.
Got 2 out if the 4 I'd messed up, plus Snow White as a bonus. Very impressed by some character assistants- one remembered c's name and that it was his birthday, and passed this info to Snow White. Another ( to be fair the only one) claimed we couldn't use our green card to queue jump when getting autographs, despite the fact that it was a different assistant a few days ago Who told me that was exactly what I could do!
Had a delay while we found something to eat, waited fir service and the bill getting, by which time wed missed all the characters.
Linda rule of theme parks- you can't do everything. Chose between eating or autograph hunting, between shopping or watching the parade.
