A self-pitying moan

Bleuch, just need to vent about a whole plethora of wee things that are accumulating and annoying me (and those of you who know me know that my patience is virtually limitless!)

Trying to get money realised to pack daughter off to Uni. I have an endowment policy that has matured, but they wont pay out on it cos the name they have for me was NEVER my name. I'm producing birth certs, marriage and divorce papers, but meanwhile, they are still not paying out on the policy.

I'm selling my car - dear daughter has been driving it a fair bit, and I'm only now discovering lots of little dents and chips, bird poo marks on the roof that are eating into the paintwork, and a badly dented wheel rim. And a flat spare tyre. All of which is eating into the sum of money I was hoping to get for it.

I'm really disappointed that the Coleraine rowers didn't win the gold medal - so close! But well done lads.

I bought a lottery ticket last week and cant find it. Now I'm fairly sure I didn't win a million, but I don't usually lose things.

I just missed the closing date for a job that I would have really loved to apply for. Mea cupla for not keeping up to date with published vacancies.

Rog has changed the MX5 for some super sporty Honda. Now, I don't get excited about cars - I like them to take me from A to B safely and economically, to carry as much stuff as I need (shoes, dogs, friends, bottles of wine) and I don't like having to worry too much about where I park it, or faff about with its roof. So I'm finding it hard to share his excitement at this new arrival.

It's just been a disappointing week.

You can call me TC

At least things are happening, even if they're not all that nice. It's too hot here to have anything happen.

Hope you find your lottery ticket, even if you then just throw it in the bin. I can sympathise with that one.

And all the others, of course.

Hey, thanks for the tip on eBaying CDs - I've gone through the 100 odd I had for music magpie-ing, and withdrawn about a dozen that I think might be worth something there.

Anna Siren- the heathen of the deep, according to iTunes...

Kinda same here mate but things are happening, albeit very slowly. How the hell aren't they paying out, have they got the names mixed up maybe? I'm still pining for Poland and I don't even have the money they want for my flat (a "pre payment" of two thousand and something, WTF?)... *hugs* You'll get her to uni somehow mate.

Look on the bright side, Bea. You're a first-class mother, of a really talented daughter who's undoubtedly going to be a big success!

And if that isn't enough to cheer you up, there's always the Speyside malt in the cellar. smiley - winkeye

Oooh, I'd forgotten about that! Might be tempted to dig out a bottle this evening.

Yay, another Coleraine rower wins a medal! Bronze, but he wasn't the favourite and I think that's as good as he was hoping for. Personally, I'm really glad the Coleraine entry carries a picture of the River Bann - it's so crucial to the town, and was the training ...erm...ground...for now 3 Olympic medallists! Better suggest some updates....smiley - run

Well, not bad. I reckoned £3k was going to be top whack, but with the couple of dings it would be a bit less. Happy enough with £2750.
