The blood! the blood!
Beatrice Started conversation Jun 18, 2003
aaargh! Have just been reading a swedish review of agricultural statistics, which translates the heading of one table as:
"Poultry, sheep and lamb, and horse slaughterings, (heads)"
and of course - you've guessed it - all I can think of now is The Godfather!

Oh, actually, I'm the final of a radio competition to win flights to Stockholm, so maybe I'll be able to go and see the horses for myself. And maybe eat them
I'll just go ask a Swede if Swedes eat horses, or horses eat swedes, or.........

Lucky you! The two times I've been to Stockholm it was minus 10, snowing and dark. So far I've seen the conference centre, two hotels, the railway station and the airport. The last time I went, that great organisation that you and I both work for booked me a room without a window... Talk about claustrophobic.
Stockholm is supposed to be very nice in the summer though.
I suspect horse and swede exist in a perfect symbiotic mutually edible cycle.

Yeah, I really loved Reykjavik, despite its ferocious expensiveness, and I'd like to explore the other Nordic capitals.
I'd resisted ringing in to this competetion, but caved in the end (I really can't pass by a contest!)
