Well, it was a rattle, then a hum, then the muffler fell off. I guess it's one less problem to deal with.

O but we must not let melancholy prevail. we must hold our heads high and march on with a look of stern intent. we must keep the spirit of oldbeetle muffler alive. we must spit-shine it and carry photographs of it in our handbags, and we must, above all, seek out impatient youngsters to tell the woeful tale of the wrattlig oldbeetle muffler to and we must not let these impatient youngsters forget,what a truly heroic oldbeetle muffler it was or that it will hurt, come winter

Quite heroic, in fact. It took three years for the peice of metal to work itself loos, rust, then fall off. It didn't go without a fight. But alas, it succomed to the most dreadful rust. Services will be held next weekend. Donations may be made to the anti-rust fund of Atlanta.
