Don't mistake a mental illness for a character flaw. Schizophrenia ia a serious, hard-to-cure illness; I've chatted with Corley on IRC a few times and when he's on his meds and lucid he's an alright guy.
He just needs to stay on his meds and some decent mental health care from what I can gather.
