Book club swaps.

Once a year, the librarian who leads our book club arrives with a big smile on her face, and says "So... next month's meeting... swap!".
It's always on a given theme, depending on the month we do it.
The first ones were in December, so the themes were either Christmas smiley - santa or Cold smiley - brr.
Then, last year we did it in February, and it was about love smiley - love.

This year, we did in in October, so the theme was
smiley - batsmiley - vampiresmiley - blackcatsmiley - witchsmiley - zoomsmiley - ghostsmiley - monstersmiley - devil
smiley - spacesmiley - spacesmiley - spacesmiley - spacesmiley - spacesmiley - spacesmiley - spacesmiley - spacesmiley - spacesmiley - spacesmiley - spacesmiley - spacesmiley - spacesmiley - spacesmiley - spacesmiley - space Hallowe'en!
smiley - runsmiley - runsmiley - runsmiley - runsmiley - runsmiley - lurk

So we wrote all the names on papers and picked pairs.

We had one month to find :
- at least three books with *some* link to the theme,
- some other little gifts (notebook, decorative object, useful object, whatever) with *some* link to the theme,
- something to eat,
- something to drink,
- at least one bookmark.

Well, here's what I got :

- "Four past Midnight" (by Stephen King),
- "I am not a serial killer" (by Dan Wells),
- a collection of news and trivia stories on the subject of death,
- some candles in the shape of haunted houses,
- a pretty notebook,
- some pear and chocolate spread,
- some chocolate lollipops (stir a mug of milk with it : tah dah! hot chocolate!),
- a bookmark shaped like a ghost,
- a black and orange card with a message on it.

smiley - biggrin

Swap day is a bit like Christmas, but doubly so, because you're sure to get several books!

Whoops! Sorry about that! Your group really are a group of nice people, if not valuable friends. You all obviously share a lot more than just an interest in English
