The Festival - world festival of puppet theatres (see A56316909 for more detail ) is starting tomorrow.
I'm going to be helping out at a cafeteria thingy every afternoon, and going to shows every night.
And it's a great way to gather some more material for an Entry!

Got home about 15mins ago after the first day.
The cafeteria work was ok, I learnt how to use the coffee machine. Tomorrow I might learn how to serve beer...
Tomorrow and Sunday will be "big" days, as people don't work, more of them will come.
I saw 3 shows today:
one was a brief history of the world from the birth of life to Noah's ark and after,
one was an interpretation of the Little Prince - very poetic -,
and the last one was I think the best: a cabaret show with rubbish as the actnrs (empty plastic bottles or metal cans with eyes and a mouth stuck on them, that sort of thing).
Had a great day, and it's only the beginning!

Hi,
How very interesting.
Do they have any puppeteers from SL? Our puppeteers use an ancient technique, the puppets (made entirely from wood) and stories have remained unchanged over several centuries.
By the way Monday is a holiday!!!!
Hope you continue to enjoy your stint at the festival.
Regards,
DS

Sd, you could come over tomorrow morning (well this morning, actually, Sunday), and go home on Monday evening!
I have seen no mention of puppeteers from Sri Lanka .
I'm now counting on you to spread the word, the next Festival is September 2011 .
After all, they didn't introduce me to the beer machine. *pfew, wipe forehead*
i saw 3 shows again today, all 3 were very good quality.
- a humorous story about an imaginary rock band (completely crazy),
- a sweet tale about a village where a magician offered to change water into gold, and when there was no more water he sold some (at a high price, of course),
- a re-telling of little red riding hood (amazingly funny).

I can be ing rude when I want to!
I have, however, sold beer in bottles, because it's not as complicated, and I have mastered the bottle-opener-thingy technique.
Plus, it's a very friendly festival, and people are courteous ( i know it's a word, but is it the one i want?), in general.
... And now I'm off to bed, as it's late and I need to be fit and awake tomorrow.
good night.

Mlle,
I will indeed spread the word over here. I cannot make it this time, maybe in 2011, with a whole troupe of puppeteers.
..... and Hi Loftskywalker !!!!
See? Getting better.
Best Regards to you both,
DS

good night, Pit.
big day today. We served a lot of lunches, as a lot of people wanted to enjoy the shows on their day off.
tomorrow will be quieter.
Saw a few shows. Nice.
Off to bed.
