Dunno if I am out of line or not...

Hi
I am ambling through the most distant reaches of the AWW at the moment, and trying to work out which entries I think may be suitable for the UG, which ones are better for the SOG, and which are potential EG entries, and pointing the authors in the right direction.
I noticed that there are some very old and very short entries by you, which I personally thought are more SOG entries than UG ones.
We have copied the GR maneuver in the AWW - whereby two Miners (ie UG Scouts) nominate the entry for removal, and where they suggest a destination, but this is time consuming for the Miners and relatively public for the Author.
This is where I get both lazy and cheeky - will you take a look at the AWW and check to see whether or not the entries that are there are in the right place now that the AWW goal posts have moved and it is 'feeding' the Underguide in the same way that PR 'feeds' the Edited Guide?
Please accept my apologies if I am out of order here. If you want to leave them all in because you haven't the time to remove them, or because you think they are all potential UG entries, that is of course fine.
And keep up the good writing!
Ben

Ahhh.
How long have you got?
The 'Underguide' is the name used to refer to... to what, exactly?
Once upon a time there were a bunch of researchers who thought that there were entries which were not suitable for the Edited Guide, but which other people would like to be able to read, and which deserved to get that wider audience. In fact, this happened several times upon a time.
There have been several solutions to this problem. The most successful is The Post. The most wide-ranging is probably AGG/GAG/CAC. The most recent is SOG. But the one which I find the most exciting is The Underguide.
We have tentative support from the Editors for our proposal, and our proposal is this. That good entries should have the same 'Edited' status *technically* as normal 'Edited Guide' entries, and that they should appear on the Front Page, in the same way that EG entries do. In order to support this, AWW is slowly changing its nature from a Writing Workshop to the Alternative Peer Review, and is being used by the Underguide Miners (ie the UG Scouts) to find and pick entries for the Underguide.
The Underguide is not yet up and running, but one of the things which the Miners are doing to get it up and running is tidying up AWW. When the scheme is finally official, AWW will be for entries which are destined for the UG, in the same way that PR has entries which are destined for the Edited Guide. There will be AWW, the CWW and the Flea Market for entries which are still works in progress, and there will be The Post, AGG/GAG/CAC and SOG for entries which are topical or really way out.
Because the goalposts in AWW have changed, a lot of the entries which were put in there, quite correctly at the time when they were put there, are now not in the best place they could be.
There are two ways of cleaning it up. If an author does not want an entry considered for the Underguide they can remove it themselves, which is why I came over here to ask you about yours. The other way is the same as the way in which entries are removed from PR. Two Miners propose removal of the entry, and suggest a destination, and then - if the Miners are in agreement, Anna will move the conversation to the correct place - WW, CWW, FM or back to the entry itself.
Miners are also suggesting that entries are considered by The Post, by AGG/GAG/CAC and by the SOG. So there are lots of alternative destinations.
I am working from the oldest entries upwards, so the ones of yours I have come across so far is A693533. I had the impression that there were more, but I may have been confusing you with someone else.
Anyway - as I said - it is entirely up to you whether you leave the entry in there or remove it. This is an awful lot of discussion for just one entry. As I said, I thought there were more.
Take care, and keep writing!
Ben
