Anyone here made the switch?

If so, how did you get on?

I didn't know you could get a mac version of InDesign yet since all the debacle with Adobe a couple of years ago. I have used inDesign on Windoze and find it fairly ok.
Does it take up a lot of HD space? Just wondering as was thinking it might be worth getting a copy in future-I am trying to find my way into the journalism field. Did it set you back a lot £?

Kaz, I've had InDesign a fair while but never had need to use it until recently. Initially it was very expensive so I didn't bother with to get it. Then I was asked to do some work in it so I had to have a crash course as it were. It's some weeks since I posted and I have sort have got up to speed with it. A lot of things are like Quark Xpress but the terminology is different.

The latest version came with a suite upgrade so if you are upgrading Photoshop and all the other gubbins then it comes in quite cheaply and studios are adopting it because they get it with their Pshop upgrades and it means they don't have to pay for a separate upgrade for Quark.

Not sure why you need InDesign if you are looking to get into journalism though. Wouldn't Word be enough?

yeah I mainly use word to write but should I ever branch out into subbing or designing I might need it, I dunno. anyway, it's something to think about, probably way off in the future but anyway. It's handy to know. I was just curious really.
