Hold down the "control" key while clicking the mouse button to get your right-click menus. Is that the kind of thing you want to know?

Dare I say it? Micro$oft have IntelliPoint drivers for the Mac, free download, that give you full functionality on all their bizarrely buttoned and wheeled mouses (What is it now? 5 buttons and 2-directional wheel?) smiley - weird

It sounds like your "samba" may not have started up properly on the Mac. Open up "Activity Monitor" and look at all the processes. There are two important ones "smbd" and "nmbd". If "smbd" did not start you will be able to see the network shares (which look like folders) but not any files. If "nmbd" does not start, you can't see the shares, but if you know the names you can type them into the address and still get to the files, so smbd works out to be the more important part.

Go back to your System Preferences and turn off "windows file sharing" then turn it back on again. Check to see if "smbd" shows up in the Activity Monitor, and if does you're all set. If not, you have to do some more exploring to figure out why smbd won't start.

smiley - blush I should have checked my own instructions before posting.

It seems you can't see the "smbd" and "nmbd" items in the activity monitor on MacOS X 10.3 because of the way Apple starts them (via "xinetd" for the curious). I'm not sure about 10.2, my instructions might work there.

It's still worth trying to turn it off and then back on again, though. Also, watch the system log using "Console" to see what happens when you turn it on, to see if there are any error messages.
