Is it me or is hootoo having problems keeping up. I keep getting XML errors and Hub messages saying the requested page is not available.

I have finally done the decent thing and upgraded to Panther (What a joke that was getting all the updates to get to 10.3.2!).

I am now experiencing random modem problems (an internal v.90 in an iMacDV 400MHz with 640MB RAM). I haven't been able to duplicate the problems in OS9 native (am I right in saying that OSX manages the modem when Classic is running?).

Are hootoo's problems mine? Is there a problem with Safari and hootoo? Or are others experiencing problems too?

I'VE JUST TRIED TO POST THIS AND THE HUB TOLD ME THAT "THIS SERVICE IS CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE"

Sorry for shouting folks!

t.

And again - not the Hub this time but a proxy error 502 "the page contains no data". Well what's all this then?smiley - yawn

Hi Amy

Tell me...!smiley - grr

I've just tried hootoo with Intermittent Explorer with the same problems. So I think the site is pretty flaky at the moment and has been for about a week for me.

The site was bad at the start of last week but picked up a bit after that. Hmm. A pattern is emerging. I suspect no one will go and kick the servers back into life unless they're being badgered by emails from the h2g2 staff. I predict it will all be fixed at 12.04 pm tomorrow.

*counts on her fingers*

If the first email gets sent at 9.30 am and factoring in some time to ignore the first email and put off dealing with the second email until after the coffee break. And then the job has to be explained to the work experience lad who has to find the correct rack and apply a size nine boot... Yes, 12.04 exactly smiley - biggrin.

If it's anything like our systems dept at w**k (smiley - sorry) then the e-mail will get an automated response which my PC(smiley - sorryagainsmiley - grovel) will traet as spam and delete so I won't know what the crucial job number was!!?

If I usse the Mac, it tells me there are problems, if I use the PC, it just doesn't work (which is why I rarely use the PC!)

Morning all *waves at Amysmiley - ant*

The tabbed browsing thing was fueled in good part by smiley - redwinesmiley - stiffdrink's and ran thus:-

149 users online
Say 45% using browsers that support tabbed browsing.
Some of them (including me (smiley - sheepish grin)) with 5 tabs open, 4 of which were doing different things in hootoo.
Others (including any or all of the above) with another browser open trying the site because of all the errors to see if it is browser specific.

Just a thought as I said.smiley - erm

*crawls back down crack in the floor*
