Good luck! May you win the bike of your dreams, and some spare cash too.

I'm a cyclist!
I love my bike. It weighs about 9000 tons and is adapted for one-handed operation. I'd be happy to share notes with any other disabled rider.

Don't suppose this is being maintained these days but I might as well register in the club.
Converted to cycling back in May 2012 and joined Audax UK and the CTC in December. Have cycled over 4000 miles in that time and have now n-1 bikes (i.e. 2)
A Trek hybrid for commuting - the original bike
A BMC streetracer. I fell in love with road biking back in August/September when I discovered the distances I could start covering as I got fitter. So I got a proper road bike on a cycle to work scheme.
I now know what my next two bikes will be (yes n+1 has started) - a mountain bike for winter useage to deal with snow and ice if necessary - a tourer - I'm doing my first Audax in two days time and if I do get into it (and I think I will) then a tourer will be sturdier and more useful for audaxing than the BMC I think.
I am also seriously considering getting a tandem so I can take the missus out to the styx with me on my long rides. She isn't as fit as me and isn't as confident - a tandem would help enormously with this.

I've just signed up for the London to Brighton bike ride - I've not been allowed to ride recently following my operation but hope to ease myself back in, after all, it's only 54 miles (but someone put the South Downs in the way).

Good speed! 54 miles is gentle enough to do without special training, even if there are downs to go up ...

I've just checked and the Isle of Wight Randonee is on Star Wars Day this year - (May the 4th be With You) - which, yes, is not an official randonee and is only 100km, but I've not done that one yet so I've just signed up for that too.
My plan - stick to a gentle 10mph, no need to rush, and enjoy the view.
