I wasn't entirely sure how a sperm whale could be kept alive on just jam but it gave me an interesting mental image. Cheers.

Quite Simple Really, Whilst I was still scattered in pieces over magrathea, those nice folk from the NHM picked me up and pasted me together with Jam, then the Jam fused fused with all my DNA and somehow replaced my blood.
So that which pumps around my whale body is, in fact, jam.
Thus I am kept alive through the power of Jam.
