This is my first attempt at writing something for the guide, so i sent it to the writing workshop first and added some GuideML, although i'm not sure if its working smiley - sadface.

Overall, this is a guide at djbouti aimed to please and inform at the same time, and it feels like i've achieved that order as well.

Criticize whatever you feel like in this, its my first try, and i hope to learn from it

Thanks

Ok, just a minor problem, and DON'T PANIC.

You've put it nicely into GML, but when you edit the article, theres a box at the bottom of the edit screen which lets you select GML or plain text. I suspect you've still got it set to plain text.

Hi ex-Rincewind. I read this the first time around and enjoyed it.
Lose the (non-existant) tags, and lose the tags, and it should work a bit better.
Also, this link will probably get chucked into the sin-bin for being in the wrong format. It needs to be:

A678350 - A thingy guide to whatever

I think you should re-format it and then request that it be sin-binned in this thread.

Normally I don't go to all this trouble, but I really liked the article, and felt it was the least I could do in return.

Hiya,

The good news is, you're obviously gonna have no probs with GuideML! smiley - ok

The bad news is, nobody gets it right first time! smiley - biggrin

Follow these wise people's advice and you'll go far.

In France they say, "La troisième, c'est la bonne!"

The Wizzard, Keeper of Words and the Space Bar

Ok, thanks to one and all, and i can't believe the frustration over that lousy GuideML button, but in any case, its working now, and i think it improves the article a fair amount. I tried to keep each section small enough not to intimidate the reader, as well as putting in a humour hook in the begining to keep them interested.

I'm going to start another convo in the proper format, so it should be legitimate.

You've changed the text again, and it's improved again.
One thing though, under the Travel Information section you have a list of things that appear quite confusing. You might by sick of guide ML by now, but have a look at the tag - it acts as a sort of bulleted list tag.

Gnomon - time to move on

Unfortunately, you've submit this to Peer Review with the wrong subject. While this appears to be trivial, it really matters to the scouts and editors. To save trouble later, please resubmit this to Peer Review with the following title:

A678350 - A Tourist's Guide to Djibouti

and don't forget to put the link in the first line of the posting, as you did.
