just thought I'd share this with you.....

....finally got my tipi up for the first time today.....sourcing canvas, finding poles stripping and finishing...all done - anyway it's finally taken shape at the back of my place today and I have to say I'm chuffed to bits..a handsome beast she is.......

there is a lot to be said for setting your mind to something..thoroughly researching then working through a process to achieve your goal...it's incredibly satisfying..especially when the result is so practical and beautiful (to me anyway)...too many people are divorced from their surroundings...the housing shortage should be solved by people making their own homes (not necessarily tipi's obviously)....anyway..I'm loving' it. L8R,

Are you having/have you had a grand opening party??


Maybe there's a market for you in teaching others to make their own tipis?

thanks for the ...I will be having a grand opening..but I want to practice setting a fire by friction first...

I've always wanted to learn to use a bow-drill and I've decided that now I've finished the tipi, that's my next challenge..and as I want the tipi warming to have a fire (obviously) I need to figure out the bow-drill....anyway - reckon I'll get it first time...not being arrogant - I can just feel it...

anyway that's a job for the weekend.

I was hoping to have images on another (tipi) site - to link for anyone interested, but they haven't come through (from work email) yet....


BTW is the campsite still active? or maybe I've just not 'joined' properly...I've had no response to my pitch a tent posting...any ideas?

i meant at the tipi images....but managed to get the last 2 sentances the wrong way round...not quite sure how that happened...
