Congratulations on your "conversation piece" selection.
FYI the BBC broadcast an excellent (to my mind) dramatisation of TLOTR many moons ago. They are now trailing what appears to be a repeat. No start date is mentioned but it may be Saturdays. If you haven't encountered it, it's about 12 hours worth.
No doubt you (being a young[ish] person) will have a far better idea of how radio broadcasts can be received, unlike this old dodderer.
