Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Just stumbled across this thread- thanks, eloisa! I kinda "grew up" with Tennant so yes, he is my favourite Doc (yeah, soft spot for him IRL anyway), but Eccleston was brilliant too.

And oh god no, we CANNOT have Geronimo as a catchphrase. Hell, no.

No, Allons-y was awesome! Plus it actually means "we go"/"we shall go" in French. Beat that. LOL. smiley - smiley

Thanks for the link, the void is now gone from my soul. Hopefully they'll actually put all the archived episodes on dvd one day, till then the internet is all we have. But if bbc is listening (and i'm sure they are) PUT THE OLD DOCTOR WHO SEASONS ON DVD!!!! Contrary to popular belief, there are still people out there that like the cheesy old school effects. Not to mention that the acting was better than alot of hollywood movies i've seen.smiley - biggrin

I thought they were putting old Dr Who onto DVD. Perhaps only 1 story per dvd but nonetheless putting them there ... some examples ...

Kosaxmonk - Doctor Who's been out on DVD for many years. All of the Colin Baker stories are available in their entirety (including the Trial of a Time Lord, in which yours truly speaks at length about robots, Mentors, Mutants and Mel). All of the other Doctors are represented extensively and the plan is to release every existing story onto DVD within the next two-to-three years.

Thanks for the update. I don't know how the dvds in Britain go, (or even the rest of the states, for that matter) but the farthest back you can go around my neck of the woods is maybe pertwee era. I guess there's just not alot of demand in these parts...But the reclamation effort is on and hopefully one day our children can enjoy those cheesy effects and wonderfull stories as much as we do. I thought about buying trial of a time lord, but I've got a problem with watching these kinds of things out of sequence. You know what I mean?

Though Castrovalva follows it with Peter Davison leaping into the role. So it can't be too bad smiley - coolsmiley - tongueout
I'm a new Whovian, Chris being my first proper Doctor, but enjoying the whole history of the show.
To me, the Fifth Doctor shines through, dare I say in the way the Tenth Doctor did following the Ninth; fresh, young but old and full of knowledge...

@Kosaxmonk - thankfully, the first three stories, introducing William Hartnell, are available in a box set called 'The Beginning'. Those stories from the 1960s that don't survive in full have been released on audio CD. They're catching up with the Pertwe stories - we should see a fair few of them released in the next 12 months - and a huge proportion of episodes from om Baker's first story onwards are now available. smiley - smiley

Do we have any votes for Matt Smith as the best Doctor yet? I think he did quite well in series fnarg.

Josh Clarke - The Auburn Time Lord

Hmm... Matt's a mixed bag but will definitely put him as one of the best. Alongside McGann, Davison, Eccleston and Tennant. Or is that too on the fence? smiley - erm
I wonder how Eleven's character will develop in Series Fnarg+1.

I quite like Matt Smith, I think he's fitting into the role very well and making it his own. Karen Gillan is an added bonus- I think both her and Smith are quite good looking. I'll put my vote in for the man!
