My choice would have to be Nicol Williamson. He was excellent in Excalibur.

Well, now that Shada's been released, what did everyone think of it?

As for my Doctor-Who-casting-wish-list, I'd say Paul McGann, Stephen Fry or Ian Richardson. Geoffrey Balydon, though he was fantastic in that Doctor Who Unbound audio, is probably too old to play the character on-screen, sad to say...

The thing that's really irritating is that it'd be so *simple* to bring the series back. 50-minute episodes, two episodes to a story, 24 episodes to a season. Make it as a co-production with some US production company (without any stupid, prohibitive deals like the BBC tried to make with Universal - "hey, you stump up the money and waive all rights to creative input and merchandising revenue" - of course they were going to make Sliders instead...), get McGann in the lead, and get any of the *huge* number of Who authors working in television to write for it. Put it out in the Jonathan Creek timeslot, and promote it, and it'd be a guaranteed ratings-winner. Certainly, it'd be better than that crappy "Strange" programme...
