h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

At last count, my underdog article has been submitted for 5 weeks now, with no rejection in sight. Anyone else out there been waiting this long? Please share your rejection stories with me, and by sharing our pain, perhaps we can reduce the pain.

5 weeks? That blows.

Perhaps the editors have been swamped - or they have got bored and are now more interested in 'mine sweeper'.

Have you tried resubmitting it? Does that work? Or even - how about copying it to a similar title and submitting that one as well.

NO DONT DO IT !!! If we all sent in multiple copies then we would DEFINATELY bring this thing to its knees.

AH! The Editors have been playing Geeker Ball and kicked Slacker's plug out of the wall. I think he is the unpopular one HELLO SLACKER - WE KNOW YOU ARE WATCHING!!!

I'm on week 6 now. I am coming to the opinion that my article is complete crap, and not even worth a rejection slip.

I wish the editors were playing Geeker Ball - maybe then they would be more likely to accept my article on the subject (which I have not submitted yet, as I am waiting for more criticism).

I haven't tried resubmitting the article, as I had assumed that multiple submissions would upset then, but why should I worry? It's not like they have paid any attention to me when I haven't upset them!

Well, I read your line dancing article, and as a former northerner (from Chicago and Denver) who now lives way south (South Texas), I enjoyed it a lot.

I have yet to figure out how to get an article rejected, and yet I keep writing more stuff anyway.

Well, thanks very much, Frink. At least someone has seen the damn thing. I'm thinking of writing an article on H2G2 editors. Actually, I expect someone's already done that.....
