h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Hmmm...don't know how to feel about this one. As far as I know, today is the first time my name has appeared on the front page. This should be a good thing, but they put a link up to my "name the team" contest. Here's the problem - the contest is supposed to be for team members only. I thought I'd be able to slip this under the radar of non-members, but I fear that there will be some upset people once they smell another "exclusive" thing going on here. I had enough bad feelings with GIRR to not want more anti-frink vibes.

I don't know if I should thank the Powers That Be or anti-thank them.
 

allright, so you got on the front page. congrats, i saw it earlier. but you are right, the voting was supposed to be for team members only. this runs the risk of a GIRR like occurance, but arent most people who would start that kinda thing on the team already?? so you dont really need to worry.
hey, worst comes to worst, just TELL people that anyone can vote, and then just count the ones from the team members only
i mean, they dont deserve to vote if they didnt ask to join the team, b/c you have let everyone who cared enough to ask in, right?

What I was expecting was that people who hadn't even heard of me would be heading to the contest page and casting votes, without ever seeing my main page or realizing they had to join first. However, this hasn't been a problem so far - not a single non-member has posted anything. I don't know if I should feel good or bad.....

be happy you got your name on the front page, and no one cared enough to vote, but i bet lots o people went to your page and looked around.
plus you dont have to deal w/ a GIRR like group protesting at your door
