Well, it's been a while since I've posted one of these... hmm...
I've got two more weeks until I move into my apartment at Penn State. That means two weeks to sort through all my books, clothes, and miscellaneous stuff to decide what I'm taking. I need to take all of my geology textbooks, especially my mineralogy. Man, am I bad at mineralogy.
That means two more weeks of working concerts. On Monday we had Warped Tour- skater music. They were opening the pavillion, so they had no use for us ushers to do our regular jobs. We were assigned various other spots around the park. At first, I ended up at claim check, where people could check food and other items they weren't allowed to bring in, with my friend Chris. Then, once we got into kind of a rhythm, our boss showed up and asked for one of us to guard the lunch tent. Since Chris is really fair, I volunteered and left him in the nice shady shade of the claim check barn. After following my boss to the admin building, we found that one of the girls working backstage had become ill and they needed someone else. So, I got volunteered for that one. It was fun, people were nice to me, I got breaks to eat and drink (though at one point I was so hot that I just started swallowing ice cubes whole), and I got to give one of the bands directions to the nearest Wal-Mart so they could fix the hitch on their van.
I've got just over a month until my best friend's wedding I'm a bridesmaid in. That reminds me- I have to pick up my dress!

Sorry to be a dim British person, but how is skater music defined?
I hate the decision-making element of packing, too, and will attempt to send some organised vibes your way.

It's a lot of popular music. We had the Allman Brothers, Chicago/Earth Wind and Fire, James Taylor, and Coldplay is the next concert. The schedule is on the website, that I gave way-y-y back in the beginning of the other journal entry.
What I call skater music is probably better known as punk or alternative rock- I just got used to calling it skater music because all of the skateboarders at my high school listen to it.
My grandmother just got home from the hospital, too. As big of a pain as ever.

Yep lil I'm up to my needle ends in fluff
Wow the Allman Brothers eh and Chicago, Does Peter Cetera still sing without opening his jaws? I can take or leave James Taylor and I've never been a fan of 70's soul so EW&F don't bother me.
Take plenty of happy pills if you get the Coldplay gig cos Chris Martin is one of the most miserable gits in Britpop, music to slash you wrists by, as my mum calls it and I agree

I have no idea- for Chicago/EWF I was too busy explaining to a royal... erm... female ... that my job is to check tickets, and yes, that means her. The Allman Bros. I was by myself in a cloud of THC trying to catch gate jumpers.
We had Ozzy and Iron Maiden for Ozzfest, too, before I forget.

Now I'm no Metal fan but I'd like to see Ozzy Osbourne

Ozzy couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. He started off each phrase kind of in the same key as the band, and then went two or three sharp.

*Waves bye to Paul*
I'm getting kind of worried because I don't know who any of my roommates are yet. I sent an email to that effect to them this morning, but I haven't got a response yet.

Blackberry Cat , if one wishes to remain an individual in the midst of the teeming multitudes, one must make oneself grotesque Posted Aug 6, 2005
is this sharing a house or flat ?
I must say after sharing with people I didn't know at all and with friends I'd always say share with people you don't know
at the worst after a year you never see them again, at best you have a new friend
share with a friend at worst you have a life-long enemy, at best you still have a friend
believe me people who are great to know socially can be hell to live with

Neither. It's a dorm, which is sort of set up like a four bedroom flat- we share two bathrooms and a kitchen/dining/den room.

Bon chance!
May your room mates be hygenic and amiable and just generally pleasant and not in anyway sub-human.
Bye the bye... Have you seen the comedy 'Threesome'?

I finally spoke to one of them. She seems organized enough to put anyone else to shame. Bright, too- she's going for an MS in Physiology.
Help.
