That would be people. My thesis is due Oct 31, so my year ends earlier than the undergraduates. Maybe I can get some sleep then.

Now that's even more peculiar. Hope that Halloween vibes don't play tricks on your thesis. And of course you have vacation in the summer. It just wouldn't be right if school followed the calendar year. It runs September through June or August through May, of course!

We get the summer off too. Our summer runs over Christmas don't forget. And we all stand around singing "White Christmas" or carols about sleigh rides when it's 100 degrees outside. What a bunch of idiots. The only thing white at Christmas is the sand at the beach. Having said that we are in the middle of a nasty cold snap. It's good for the ski industry, the Australian Alps have had good snow. The rest of us just have runny noses and frozen wedding tackle.

By the way, we don't recognise or celebate halloween, so I'm not phased by the "spooky" due date of my thesis. In fact I didn't even know what date halloween was until you mentioned it.

I enjoy white Christmases. It's gratifying to be able to dive into three feet of snow to have that picture-perfect holiday. Too bad about Halloween. It's the prefect excuse to dress in silly clothes and run around acting like a complete idiot.
