Please tell me how I have let the cat out of the bag! You've got me panicking now. Urgently await your reply.

Aha! Caught another one I see
don't worry, it is a trick. A little something called the tag. If your page is in GuideML (kinda like HTML but different tags) you can add this tag (or command) into your page and it is automatically replaced with the username of the person looking at your page.
So I see "Ictoan has really let the cat out of the bag..."
And you see " tomerc has really let the cat out of the bag...."
And someone called SantaClaus would see "SantaClaus has really let the cat out of the bag"
It means nothing, just my odd sense of humour in tricking people
I hope I did not worry you too much!
Welcome to my personal space and hope you are enjoying H2G2!
Have a or whilst you are here!

should have read
And you see " biomass has really let the cat out of the bag...."
As you may be able to tell from the other messages left on my space you are not the first I have managed to confuse
I just like to let the in me out occasionally!

Well, you certainly did get me, I went back immediately and deleted everything I had put there - it was my first night on h2g2! All is forgiven and I'm having a chuckle you swine! Hope to hear from you again, and it was very nice of you to put me out of my misery (24 hours of thinking, "Did you enter your credit card number at any stage?").

Well, I find it a good way to break the ice and find that 'Hello welcome to my page' is a bit boring!!
I do appologise for the 24hrs of torment though, still, you seem to be getting the hang of this place ok then?
I see you are from the land of Oz, we seem to have a fairly healthy Australian researcher presence on H2G2, have you found any of them yet?

I have noticed one or two people advertising that they're Australian in their choice of membername, so I have avoided them like the plague. I already know what it's like over here, I'm more interested to speak to people that I can't talk to any day of the week.
Quick, what?
IctoanAWEWawi Posted Mar 19, 2004
Well I guess that is fair enough really! Finding your way around ok?
So, the inevitable question, what route did you take to get here?

Just starting to get an idea of what's going on. I'm working on my personal space, you know, flash pictures and all the trimmings that I am just discovering now. I ran across this sight last night when I was visiting the BBC Worldservice homepage instead of doing the work I was supposed to be doing. Just like I'm doing again tonight! Such is life. It's 3:10 am here and I have wasted yet another valuable night. Anyway, since I'm completely useless with computers I'm impressed with my space, and I've had fun doing it (well, mostly). Keep up the scare tactics, I might employ a few of them myself. Let's get'em.

Ah, have seen your space now! *feels guilty for causing it to be deleted* hope you had a copy or is this a completely new take on it?
Hmmm, looking at that page you should fit in fine here! There is a H2G2 mnotorcycle club somewhere around (I am a member but it is an infrequent group) with members from the UK, South Africa, Oz and NZ. Possibly a few other places too, I haven;t spoken to everyone yet!
What category did you race in? Never been that good a rider myself, but been to watch the supersports a few times. Never made the IOM TT yet though
Oh, if you liked the wind up, then take a trip over to A1015084 . I was invited to join this lots when they spotted my wind up so you may pick some ideas up there!
3:10am? Eeek. I remember those uni days

No, this a completely new page. I had no idea what I was doing last night anyway so it was no loss. I raced post-classics, a 1972 Yamaha TR3, but my road-bike (my only means of transport) is a CBR 600, which you will be familiar with from the supersports. I might just visit the sight you suggested to accumulate a bag of nasties. Appreciate it.
Key: Complain about this post
