The story of Faust has had massive influences on so many stories, plays and films. Most recently, 'Bedazzled' (starring the beautfiul Liz Hurley as 'the Devil with a horrendus English RP accent), was based soley upon the Faust story. There's also a Johnathon Creek episode which explores the story of a man who has supposedly signed his life away to the devil in a faust-esque way. The story has been used everywhere.

On a lighter note, Homer Simpson sold his soul to the devil for a doughnut, and don't forget "Eric" - the Discworld novel based on Faust. You're right, it has been used a lot...

No devil, c'mon, if devils are fictions then Faust has a host in his own psyche, in the shadows of his dreams, in the fire of his desires, the devil's in the detail.
