Thought this was interesting. I'm not using Ebay very much any more any way. They refused to give me a refund when I got the wrong item once. So mostly I buy DVDs at Amazon now. I got a defective item from Amazon once, but they were quick to gracefully replace it. I wonder if this strike will work? I like the fact that the makers of this YouTube video chose Beethoven as background music. Ebay is still useful for getting unusual items. But I am appalled at the idea of their feedback rating system being so undermined. Anyway, the strike will be Feb 18 through the 25th, 2008 for both buyers and sellers. The goal is no activity at all.

Can't watch the video but will look for info on the story. I've never had any problems with eBay; I've bought and sold a few hundred times and only once didn't receive my merchandise, for which I promptly received a refund from PayPal. Off to hunt for some info...

OK, the fee increases wouldn't be enough to scare me away, but I do think it's a bad idea to deprive sellers of the means to warn others about problems with buyers. I've never had to leave negative feedback about a buyer, only sellers (and only for taking way too long to ship), but there are deadbeats out there and sellers should have recourse when dealing with them.
Not that I'll quit buying. I avoid the "power sellers" anyway- those are the ones that list items they don't actually have available and/or take forever to ship them out.
