Hi, Shee,
My name is Mark and I'm from Essex in England.
I'm in the process of building a Fawlty Towers Fan site (www.40towers.co.uk) and was hoping you could help me out.
I intend to use the script and a lot of images from the show because that is what people want to see, I think. But to prevent getting my arse sued I was looking to get copyright permission from John Cleese or his agent at least.
Would you have any contact details that may help me on my quest? Or maybe any ideas where to start looking?
Thanks for your time,
Mark

Wow.
*rather stunned*
I seriously haven't a clue. I am layperson, living in America, who happens to like Fawlty Towers and wrote an h2g2 entry, which was edited and thus became a bit more "official"... But I don't have any contact with anybody real, so to speak, and haven't even seen anything online about contact... You might do better contacting the real BBC -- I mean, someone who works with the BBC and could send you to someone else who might know a bit more. Our "Italics" here are with the BBC and in charge of the site, but I don't think they would be able to help you much. I'm sorry I can't be much help... Tell me what happens, though, will you? Is the site somewhat up yet?

have you tried looking on the internet for John Cleese or his agent... the BBC may not be able to help you because he isn't with them anymore: he lives in the US...

Ahh!
Willem, no, not yet. I haven't even really been online in the past couple days, and almost no time for email. I hope to get to my emails within a couple hours.
fwt -- I didn't know that! (cleese in USA)
202452, hi! *grins* Your post at the bottom of my "Islam" entry is an entry in itself! "Weird person who wants to be normal", though, that I must disagree with. Whoever wants to be normal?!?
So many different themes in just the one thread... *argh* Our conversation has sort of ground down, hasn't it, fwt?

You know, I'd probably be jealous if I knew who they were......
My music is more "classic rock" -- Pink Floyd, the Beatles, Queen -- things like that.

YOu haven't heard of them :-o
Alicia Keys is a soul singer, with a voice on a par with Aretha Franklin: but shes only 24!
