Okay, I'm sitting here thinking to myself, "This sounds really corny," but I can't really put anything else. All the exams stuff is too ephemeral to have felt that great (to me, anyway), so I have to go with when I realised how great God is (and that there was a place for me blah blah blah). smiley - ok

That doesn't sound corny, it sounds nice.

smiley - biggrin Thank you. I was probably being oversensitive about it; I'm the sort who always cringes when the leader at a Christain meeting shouts, "Let's all give God a big round of applause," and I didn't want to sound like that.

Er...

I'm never going to knock anyone's beliefs, because that goes against my belief of individual freedom. But I will suggest this...

Study your Bible. Study it hard. Learn the backbone of your beliefs. Don't take any s**t from those who would deter you. Study. Learn. Understand.

If you do that, then hopefully you will grow out of your faith one day.

That's what I did.

smiley - erm I'm not quite sure what to say to that. It can't possibly be knocking my beliefs (coz you said you wouldn't do that), but it certainly sounds like it is. Plus, I don't think anyone's tried to deter me from studying the Bible.

I'm glad nobody's deterring you. You'd be amazed how many "Christians" have reduced their faith to a shallow feel-good singalong on Sundays.
Bible study has become old-fashioned and is often seen as unnecessary, as has the idea of being able to defend your beliefs.

I don't share your faith; I personally believe that it's long past the time that humanity grew beyond such things, and that religion has always caused more problems than it has solved.

However, I always respect those who take their faith seriously, as you seem to. More power to your elbow, and may your God bless you.

smiley - cheers
GEOFF
