Have they set a decade yet for its creation?

I don't really know when it's going to start up. I haven't heard much (Aside from an occasional peep) but I think we're waiting on the italics. Who I think are waiting on us

Is anyone specifically laying claim to being in charge of the UnderGuide?

well most of the people that first did are stepping down.

the advantage of the Spaced Out Guide - may be progressing slowly, oirrregular updates since only one editor, but at least it's doing something and is there!

Actually, people are avoiding being in charge. The ones proposed for the role of UnderGuide Persona are based on those who volunteered in a certain order

The leaders of the UG movement, Ben, Waz, GTB and Deidzoeb are either stepping down or are not doing much. Friendlywithteeth has said that unless other people have their heart set on stepping down, he will.

As far as I know, Fwt, Spook, GTB and Sprout are in the running, though GTB hasn't been doing much lately

Okay, spook beat me to it... but I was looking at my list of volunteers.

Fwt and I are also managing the archiving of UG entries

I'm glad its still being discussed though.

I would like to see more places for fiction.

I haven't seen it being discussed by anyone but me (and on this forum)

Many of the principle players are offline for a while.

I tried to jumpstart conversation on a few forums, but it's not working

But there is still a lot of miner traffic in AWW, though only on th entries...

and i seem to be on it but i think thats cos i volunteered to sub-ed (sorry polish!) anything. Although would be happy to follow in others footsteps regarding the rest of it but since i have no clue then i am best letting others lead by example and point me in the right direction. Meanwhile subbing I can do without too much stress (theoretically anyway )

We don't necessarily need normal miners. Polishers are in demand as well and quite important

Ideally what we need is a contact in the heart of h2g2 towers. If one of the paid staff were designated to oversee the progress of this project, I think it would make things a lot easier to get off the ground.

Do you know if anything like this has been proposed?

And if it hasn't how would be the best way to go about getting something like this done?

Actually yes. Ben has volunteered. We're waiting for the towers to agree. They seem inclined

No, Ben to go to the towers and work with them for a day or so.

How long have you been waiting to hear back from the towers?

About a month now, I guess. UG traffic died down about 2 months ago. I get the feeling that we're losing momentum.

We could function right now. We just need a clearly defined leader. Some have said that Ben visiting the towers would be the culminating event of our movement.
