He was, if I'm not mistaken, James Blood Ulmer's bass player when he had teamed up with Ronald Shannon Jackson. I know he went into spoken word after 'Blood' blead to death years ago, but I can't evaluate him right now. Which you may take as a firm 'yes'.

Must be we're not talking about the same guy then... LOL
I wasn't really sure. The bass player I referred to has a name similar to the one you mentioned. I can check it out when I get back home.
