h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

is still here. My power went out today, for 4 hours. When I called the Electric company, they said, "Why, yes, there is an outage, and here's the borders of it." Seems that I'm located about a mile north of the northernmost boundry of the blown transformers.

Bummer. It's still too hot this time of year to be without electricity. Course, it never goes out unless it is blazing hot or below freezing. Must be an unwritten law of electricity somehow.

The weather here is definitely confused: the highs this week have only been 68 to 70 F, and cloudy -- not normal for Southern Cal.

But, no worries, those two asteroids missed us, and I'm sure our global weather patterns will settle down one of these decades.
