I took a face-plant* in a parking lot this evening, and my ex (whom I had dinner with, along with the rest of the board of the non-profit) suggested that since I didn't look down in the dark, and pouring rain to see the obstacle, that it was time I got a white cane!!!
HOW this would have prevented me not seeing the parking space bumper I tripped over is not clear. Like, would a white cane have alerted the concrete bumper, and made it dematerialize? Really??
*I'm fine, my glasses have been bent back into shape again, my nose and eyes may be colourful by tomorrow, but life does go on. And on.

Well, perhaps if it was an ~illuminated~ cane. I suppose you were tempted to hit him with your dark cane!
I hope you aren't too sore from the experience.

Dang. Hope you don't have black eyes.
Some people mean well, but make the most ridiculous remarks. Others don't even mean well.

Nah, B's a sweet guy, just a little officious at times. His wife keeps him in line and is perfect for him!
Lucky me, I didn't get a black eye (or two!), just a big red scrape on my nose, where the bridge of the glasses scraped over. Didn't even have any scrapes on the lens over my *good* eye.
However -- you win some, you lose some. This morning my loo backed up and is *still* out of order. . When I was in the super getting cleaning supplies and cat food, other stuff happened to make this an even more annoyingly annoying day.
At least the cats are happy, now!

I suppose we can always find something positive if we look for it. And a happy cat makes for a much calmer household.
